Our FFC & FPC connectors provide reliable, compact, and flexible interconnections for modern electronic devices. Designed to meet the increasing demand for miniaturized and high-density PCB designs, these connectors deliver secure contact performance and long-term durability in a wide range of applications, including consumer electronics, automotive, communication equipment, medical devices, and industrial control systems.

Whether you are developing a new PCB design or sourcing for OEM assembly, our flex cable connectors ensure stable signal transmission and easy integration.

Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) connectors are ribbon-like connectors made from flexible materials such as plastic, polymers, films, or engineered rubber, featuring a metallic connector embedded parallel to the cable base. In contrast, Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) connectors incorporate printed or embedded circuits on the cable plane, allowing them to function as flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs).

FPC/FFC connectors provided by RHT are narrow-pitches and low-profile connectors contributing to space-saving that are optimum for compact telecommunication apparatus and products supporting equipment requiring high-speed data transmission , and a wide variety of product types featuring convenient one-touch locking function (flip-type locking), sliding ZIF or inexpensive type of Non-ZIF and etc. are provided for achieving customers' requests.

Flexible Flat Cable/Flexible Printed Circuit (FFC/FPC) connectors are one of the most popular cable connector solutions for sleek applications. They have very thin form factors and unmatched flexibility.

RHT's FFC/FPC connectors come in a variety of pitch sizes, specifically 0.50mm, 1.00mm, and 2.54mm. The 2.54mm pitch FFC/FPC connectors are available in ZIP, Non-ZIF, LIF, and High-speed versions. These options cater to different application requirements, providing flexibility and compatibility across various electronic designs. Their compact design makes them ideal for use in applications such as consumer electronics, automotive systems, and medical devices.

The different types of actuator methods of FFC/FPC connectors are:

    • ZIF: A Zero Insertion Force actuator allows no friction mating, resulting in a higher mating life cycle.
    • Front Flip: The actuator and terminal are vertically stacked, with a wide frontage for easier insertion and a higher height and narrower depth.
    • Back Flip: Located on the anti-slip side, reducing its height, the actuator with its wide depth can connect the top and the bottom surfaces.
    • Slider Type: The actuator's linear opening and closing trajectory make it easy to operate with automation. It has a higher retention force than other FFC/FPC connectors without ears.
    • One-Touch: Notched FFC/FPC with auto-lock mechanism and a push-button facilitating easy cable removal, the One-Touch design facilitates the ease of the mating process.
    • Non-ZIF: Features one-action mating (insert FFC/FPC to mate) without any actuator operation and allows the removal of foreign substances by wiping the FFC/FPC with the contacts.

    Applications

Both FFC and FPC connectors are popularly used in many major compact applications including portable devices and medical equipment. When it comes to automotive industry, high performance FFC/FPC connectors support advanced applications like in-vehicle infotainments, smart lighting and driving assistance systems like ADAS in addition to navigation support and safety settings.

With Industry 4.0 and deployment of 5G technology, FFC/FPC connectors are finding new opportunities in many next generation applications. RHT offers flexible, reliable and high performance FFC/FPC solutions that meet the requirements of all modern applications.

The multi height flex connectors offered in 1.00mm pitch and 0.50mm pitch are ideally used in a wide range of applications across automotive, data, communications, medical, and consumer industries.

FFC vs. FPC Connectors – What's the Difference?

While both connector types serve similar interconnection purposes, they differ in structure and usage:

    • FFC connectors connect flat ribbon cables made of flexible copper conductors and insulating film.

    • FPC connectors connect flex printed circuits with etched copper traces and polyimide film.

    • FFC cables are cost-effective and ideal for simple inter-board connections.

    • FPC circuits provide higher design flexibility for complex or curved assemblies.

Choosing between them depends on your application's mechanical and electrical requirements.
